I’m very pleased with this iron. It does exactly what it should. I ordered it from Amazon (just be aware, it seems that there are lots of fake versions, look for a credible seller and once you receive it, check that it has all the stickers and the monogram of ghd). It came with video instructions on a DVD which were really helpful! I never knew I could do beautiful curls with this thing as well. I got it for strengthening of my hair and works perfect! My hair is naturally wavy. A week before I got the iron I had a haircut done (changed the style of my hair, not so much the length) - nobody at work noticed. Once I made my hair with this iron, even guys who usually don’t notice things like that were complementing my “new” haircut It looks very professional when I use the ghd iron. Like I just walked off the hair stylist salon!
The only thing that you probably would want to know (and I didn’t) prior to buying this iron is that it doesn’t have an option to regulate the strength of the heat. It only has one strength and it’s really hot! But I’ve never burnt my hair.
The other thing is that it doesn’t have that standing piece to secure the iron on the counter. So you basically need to lay it down sideways, otherwise it will roll. But it’s covered with some isolation so it won’t burn the surface of the counter. I just was surprised that ghd didn’t design it to be able to stand.

So all in all, it’s worth the money and I really recommend it! My hair stylist actually uses the same one.

Amazing - fake name - Las Vegas
I had several reservations about buying a ghd 1″ “heat styler.” I finally decided that I “had to have it” and bought it for myself for Christmas through S ephora, as they are an authorized seller. The price then decreased through Amazon and I snapped it up for a price almost 50% lower than what I paid at the authorized dealer.

I read the reviews online and through Amazon that stated that Amazon sold counterfeit flat irons. I was able to compare the two, and they were the exact same product but at a much lower price.

I have very thick, naturally wavy (on one side, of course!) hair. I have used a HAI 1.77″ straight iron for over 5 years, so I was nervous about the 1″ size, but intrigued by the possibility of being able to use the straighter as a “heat styler” for curling or straightening (you can watch the videos on you tube!)It works great for both uses. My hair feels soft and healthier than before and I’ve only been using for a couple of weeks. I do not mind the 1″ size, it still works just as quickly as my larger flat iron and heats up in under one-minute!

If you are ready to spend 0+ for a hair tool, this is the one that you should buy. Do not waste your money on one that will not last and damage your hair. This product is highly recommended!

I have only owned one other “professional” flat iron before. That was the Solia. It worked well for several years, but after 4 years of use I decided I needed something new!   I have been using this for almost a year now, and I love it! I do not use it on wet hair as I could see that doing some damage to the hair. When used on dry hair, it only takes 2-3 passes to straighten.

  I try the original CHI but didn’t like it because you could not adjust the temperature and my hair and scalp would burn. I have had the wet2straight from REMINGTON for 4 yrs and it was the best for my hair (thick, wavy and abundant) because even when I blow dry my hair, it stays damp so when I straighten it the steam does not burn my scalp. Well, to make the story short when I saw this I was so happy, I bought it immediately and I am not disappointed, it has a super long cord, a timer and the plates are not too thin nor thick just the right size. The bonus stuff is fantastic too. Love the stand. I put it on the mirror.
